FSIH autumn meeting on 3.11.2020 at 6 pm: Global food security

The autumn meeting for the Finnish Society for International Health will take place on Tuesday, 3rd of November 2020 at 6 p.m. (EET, UTC +2). The topic of the meeting is highly relevant as the Nobel Peace Prize 2020 was awarded to United Nation’s World Food Program (WFP) for its efforts to combat hunger.

Speakers for the evening are Heli Kuusipalo and Liisa Korkalo.

Heli Kuusipalo is a senior researcher at Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. She will be talking about her work for WFP, where she’s worked in developing food products aimed at treating malnutrition.

Liisa Korkalo is a senior researcher at Helsinki University and she will be talking about her PhD topic, micronutrient deficiencies in adolescent Mozambican girls.
