The Finnish Society for International Health
The purpose of the society is to increase awareness in international health questions in Finland, to improve co-operation of individuals and societies working in the field of international health, to participate in international co-operation and to support research in international health.
The activities of the society cover the following areas:
- health questions of developing countries and development co-operation
- issues connected with research and clinical care of tropical diseases
- co-operation in health with nearby countries
- travel medicine
In order to achieve these goals the society organizes training courses and lectures, co-operates with different advisers in the field of international health, supports research and practical development co-operation.
Medical doctors and any other persons interested in achieving these goals can apply for membership of the society. An application with recommendations from two members of the society should be sent to the secretary of the society. The application is reviewed and accepted by the board of the society. The society may also have individuals and organizations as supporting members.

The Group of Travel Medicine, The Finnish Society for International Health
The purpose of the Group of Travel medicine is to unite Finnish health professionals working in the field of travel medicine. The Group of Travel medicine provides a forum for discussion. It organizes training in travel medicine and supports research and international co-operation to develop the field of travel medicine. The objective is to provide Finnish travellers with accurate, up-to-date advice from all health care professionals.
